Overview
A two-day ski touring weekend in the Brenta Dolomites, exploring the terrain around Madonna di Campiglio and Grostè. It is an area with open slopes, quiet valleys and a few more structured lines — a really nice mix that makes the skiing varied and fun.
This trip is for skiers who already have some touring experience and want two relaxed, well-guided days in a beautiful setting. The idea is simple: move at a steady pace, enjoy the mountains and have a good time on skis.
We meet in Madonna di Campiglio for a quick coffee, check the gear together and head out for the first day. We usually agree on the general objective in advance, but we keep things flexible so we can follow the best snow and the most sensible options for the day.
At the end of the first day, we head back to our accommodation to relax and enjoy some good Italian food and wine before the next morning on skis.
Expect easy, steady ascents of around 700–1,000 metres per day, with plenty of time to look around, enjoy the views and make the most of the skiing.
And, as always in Italy, good food and friendly hospitality naturally become part of the weekend — whether we stop in a hut or grab a relaxed drink once we are back in town.
Two days in the Brenta mean big views, quiet corners of the mountains, good snow and, above all, a lot of fun.
Itinerary
-
Day 1Day 1 – Val Gelada or similar Brenta tour
This is only a possible itinerary, but you can specify the peaks you would like to ski
On the first day we usually start from the Madonna di Campiglio / Campo Carlo Magno area and choose a classic Brenta ski tour, often in the Val Gelada basin. After a short coffee and gear check we skin up through gentle valleys and open slopes, gaining around 800–1,000 metres of elevation depending on the exact line and conditions.
The focus is on finding good snow and a calm mountain atmosphere rather than chasing steep or extreme terrain. At the end of the day we ski back down to the valley and return to our accommodation in Madonna di Campiglio to relax and enjoy the evening.
-
Day 2Day 2 – Grostè and Cima Roma area
On the second day we often move towards the Grostè area, using the lifts or skinning from the valley if conditions allow. From the upper stations we have access to wide open terrain and moderate slopes leading towards the Cima Roma area, with beautiful views over the Brenta range.
Depending on snow and group energy we choose between a shorter, more relaxed tour or a slightly longer outing with up to 700–900 metres of ascent. We finish the weekend with a final descent and a relaxed drink back in town before saying goodbye.
